In the past few years, a new, modified subculture has evolved. They are called the hipsters, coming from a noun a hippie that stands for:

A person who opposes and rejects many of the conventional standards and customs of society, advocates extreme liberalism in sociopolitical attitudes and lifestyles.

The new, modern subculture the hipsters is:

A subculture of men and women typically in their 20′s and 30′s that value independent thinking, counter-culture, progressive politics, an appreciation of art and indie-rock, creativity, intelligence.
